Aislinn is a journalist, broadcaster and media creative from Adelaide, Australia. She has worked for various community organisations around South Australia such as the Commissioner for Children and Young People, SACOSS, Open State, and others. She is also a regular guest on the segment Generation Next with ABC Radio Adelaide host Peter Goers Additionally, Aislinn has over a year's experience in media monitoring and analysis with the Adelaide branch of the media intelligence company Isentia, and forged deep connections across the media and government sectors in SA during her tenure there. In the past, Aislinn was also the producer and host of the show Goodness! on the community station Radio Adelaide 101.5, a current-affairs show with an optimistic, solutions-journalism angle. |
In 2018 Aislinn commenced an honours research thesis into the fragmented and often-times disengaged media audiences in the Australian political sphere, after graduating from the University of Adelaide's Bachelor of Media program. During Adelaide University's Open Day in 2017, Aislinn was invited by the Head of the Media Department to speak with prospective media students at the Sia Furler Media and Music Institute Tour.
Aislinn is also a committed creative writer in her free time. In 2016, she was the Spoken Word SA 'Summer Slam' poetry winner, putting her love of words and knack for public speaking to good use with a piece about her migrant heritage. She has since had work featured on ABC Radio, and won People's Choice Poet at the 2018 Goolwa Poetry Cup. She has also been involved in the online publishing world, in an effort to put her digital skills to good use uplifting young voices. She was the Social Media and Digital Manager for L'Ephemere Literary Magazine for two years, beginning in 2016.
